Well- Don't worry we haven't died! I just seem to be very busy and once I get the kids to bed I seem to completely out of energy.
Instead of catching up on all the wonderful things that you have missed I will summarize our spring and summer. The last time I blogged was in April. We had a great time with my sister and her family here. Once her spring break was over it was time for ours to begin. The girls and I packed up our stuff and headed to Idaho for our spring break. We did some service for my mom and that made us all feel great. The two older girls are wondering when they get to do that again for grandma.
School got out and we headed for Utah that next weekend for a four day vacation which included the two days of traveling. The reunion in Heber was a lot of fun and we hope that Shane will be able to get more time off so we can do it next year otherwise we will not be going down. It was to hard on the kids and us. The family keeps growing and changing it was fun to see everyone!
After we got back from Utah we caught up on our sleep and started swim lessons for the two older girls. Both of them loved it this year but it wasn't a very hot summer here. So- some days it took some convincing to get them to go in the pool. Especially one day when it was raining. Brianna was sure that the pool would be closed so I told her I would call and ask. Sure enough it was still open and I had to drag her to the pool. Once she got in she said she was ok.
Along with summer we did lots of yard work, pruning trees, mowing weekly, planing a vegetable garden, and towards the end of the summer we did a ton of picking up apricots and plums. We gave out I'm sure hundreds of pounds of fruit this summer. Our trees went crazy. Lauren was the biggest helper with picking up the rotten fruit. She thought it was fun to squish is in her hands. I always had to keep a eye on her to make sure she didn't eat it. YUMMY!
Labor day weekend Shane and I celebrated our 10th Anniversary. We drove Idaho and spend the 5 days with my family. Grandma took us all to the county fair and spoiled us all. Shane and I got to go on all the rides we wanted and we didn't have to watch our kids. (That might sound weird but for us that was AWESOME!) She also bought us all food and treats and played games, won prizes for the grandkids and even gave them some spending money to purchase what they wanted at the little booths. We loved the time with time. However, going there for our anniversary we made Brianna miss her first day of 1st grade. We now realize that we can't go on vacation on our anniversary because we have kids in school. :(
As for school Brianna has a wonderful, kind teacher which she really needed. Her reading continues to amaze me and her sisters love her to read books to them. Lately, If Brianna is sitting around you can bet that Lauren is getting a book for her to read to her. It is very cute.
Paige is growing up way to fast. She celebrated her 4th birthday with a friend party in our back yard. Party's are worth all of the stress once you see the birthday kid with a smile. Also, we are doing Kindergarten at home and she is catching on very quickly. Lauren and her have started to play really well together when Brianna is not at home. Paige likes to teach Lauren how to organize things. :)
Lauren is going in to nursery next week and seems to be able to understand things really clearly right now. It amazes me how they are so little and yet they can do and understand so much.
Shane and I continue doing what we do. Unfortunately there is not much new going on. OH- Except Shane is now the boss at his work.
We love you all and I will really try to keep up on the blogging. Thanks for being so patient with me and hope all is going well.
Love,
Vonae
