Swimming Pool July 09

When my family came up the following week after Ryker was blessed we all went to the pool while Shane was at work. The water was cool and it took some time to get used to. We all had fun spending time together. In this picture Paige is not smiling but she did have fun.
Here is a picture of my mom holding Ryker. She was the babysitter at the pool.
Rena loved to play with Lauren in the pool. Lauren loved it too. One of the favorites is the swimming fish.
We all got in the hot tub at one point. The only one that didn't get in is Paige. She has a hard time with hot water.

Rykers Blessing July 5th, 09

Shane's parents were able to come and spend the weekend with us and be a part of Ryker's blessing. It was a nice day outside so we decided to take pictures outside. Dad has the nicer pictures because he took some with his nice camera and he is a lot better at taking them then I am.
Here is a picture of my family. I think it is the first one with all 6 of us. Mom was nice and took it. Thanks mom.
Here is our little buddy in his blessing outfit.
All is right in his world. :)
It was a very good day.

Beginning of July 4th weekend 09

For the 4th we went to light off fireworks with Shane's parents. They had come into town for the blessing of Ryker. It was fun to have them here for the 4th. In the morning we went to our church for breakfast and then we hung out at home and ended up going shopping which took longer then we had thought it would so didn't get to BBQ. We ate at Wendy's. That's all american right!! :) I know that this is not a great picture but it is the only one of everyone but Ryker and I.Ryker was a trooper he slept through most of the fireworks.
The girls were brave enough this year to hold the sparklers. They really enjoyed it and wanted to stay and do fireworks forever. We were there for a few hours and the girls in the van said that it was really short. They however all fell asleep very quickly in the van. We got home after 11pm.
The girls loved doing the poppers. Lauren loved to collect the streamers and she would not let go of them. When we got home her lap was covered in the paper.

Father's day 09

For father's day this year the girls gave Shane ties that they picked out. We went shopping and I had to suggest ties because we had one little girl that kept picking out the uglyiest ties ever. Both of the kids felt proud to give him a present.

As a family we gave him a dump cart. We have lived in our home for a few years and we have often thought it would be nice to get a wheelbarrow so this year I thought I would get him something that we would use often and make it easier for him to do yard work. Once he got it put together he used it for days. I must have done a good job picking it out.
We had it in the back of the van because it was awkward to carry and weighed a ton. The kids had fun watching him get it out.

softball time spring 09

This year Brianna played softball for her second year. She did awesome. I was worried about having her signed up because I was going to be huge and pregnant and have little Ryker during that time. One of my friends called and asked if we could have our kids on the same team so if we needed to car pool we could. Which in the end she never needed my help but boy did we ever during this crazy time for us. So- Thank you Jacy!!! In the picture above is Lauren, Paige and Kate ( Paiges friend). We hung out and talked while our kids played softball. Lauren adopted Jacy during the games. She would read her story after story. My lap had gotten really small so it was hard to hold Lauren in a comfortable position.

Isn't our little softball player cute. Next year we will have one playing softball and one T-ball.
What a hit! She only missed a few times during the season.
This was taken at the last game. At my baby shower Nancy gave me this super cute outfit because she knew that it would match Bri's.

Pictures of Ryker

Here are some pictures of Ryker shortly after he was born. He is all boy!. He burps loud and eats tons. My girls were very different. It is fun to have a little boy in the house the girls all love him.

This is our first picture with him.

He was our biggest baby at 7lbs 15oz. 21 1/2 inches long.

Our little Boy

We are pleased to announce the birth of our little boy. He was born on May 26th. We named him Ryker Michael Nielson and you can see a picture of him on the hospital website at www.holy-family.org. On the left side click on special delivery and then either put in my name or Ryker and he will pop up.
I am doing good. However- I am very tired. Shane's mom came to help with the girls and take care of us. She was wonderful and a joy to have. We tried to talk her into staying for another week but she has a life and I don't think grandpa liked the idea of having him gone another week. Thank you Grandma you will be missed and any time you can come spend some time with us we would LOVE IT!!!!
I will post some pictures and tell you all about the adventure we had at delivery time some time soon. Our little MR. just woke up and is ready to eat.
Thank you for all of your love and we can't wait to show him off to all of you.
Love,
Vonae
