Papa's Birthday March 2007

We were able to go for the weekend to celebrate papa's birthday. We had fun. The girls enjoyed helping open the presents. :) This year we were able to be with mom and dad for their birthdays. Of course grandma was here helping us with our new little one. (future blog).
I'm trying to catch up on the many months of not blogging to watch for a ton.

Coming home

Time to come home! Here are some pictures of us as a family getting ready to all be together at home. The pictures of Lauren are much better then the one in the previous blog. I know that there are things that I have skipped to show all of you the pictures of her. I'll try to get more done tomorrow. I hope that you enjoy these pictures and we look forward to catching you up on the things that have gone on. We love you! Enjoy.

Our little girl

This picture was taken when we got to the hospital. Shane wanted a picture of my belly!
After I got all set up in the bed and answered the million questions the girls got up in bed to give me a hug and say goodbye for the day. Shane had to take them to do some shopping and then to a friends house to be watched for the day. They were really sad to leave me at the hospital.
This picture was taken right after she was born. Therefore not the best. Lauren was wide awake the first day it was fun to see her look around.
Daddy's first picture with his little Squeakers (his nickname for her).
Shane went and picked up the girls and brought them to come see their sister at 9:35pm. The both held her, kissed her and loved her. Both of them cried lots when it was time to go.

Our little girl is finally here!!! Lauren Renae Nielson was born on April 20th at 6:46pm
She is beautiful. The girls love her and are enjoying having her here at home. Lauren weighed 6 lbs. 3 oz. and was 21 inches long. So- she is our smallest newborn. The delivery was the hardest one because I went from a 5 to a 10 in an hour/ hour and a half. The meds didn't work very well that last hour. The recovery has been the easiest however. I only had one stitch and they debated on giving me it.

Family visit 3-12-07

Rena, Maddie and Steve (Rena's boyfriend) came to visit us this weekend. It was a short visit but very nice to see them. They arrived Saturday late afternoon and then left Tuesday morning. So- Saturday we went bowling after dinner. Bowling didn't turn out exactly how we wanted it took about 2 1/2 hours to play one game. Our ball kept getting stuck and there were 6 of us bowling. We were all ready to come home when we were done. Then on Sunday we went to church and hung out. Monday we went into Chucky Cheese which Shane was able to come up for because we got there so late. Then Maddie taught us a FHE lesson on the word of wisdom. We then tried to go to a new ice cream restaurant but it was closed already. :( (they have the best huckleberry ice cream!) Then on Tuesday the just got up and ready to leave. It was fun. Brianna cried all day about how come they weren't here for very long. It is hard for her when family leaves. Paige was sad before they left but once they were gone she didn't really care. We look forward to them coming in June to see the new little one. Thanks for coming up guys. Good to meet you Steve!

Ouch 2-24-07

Paige woke up and decided to dress up in lots of
dress up clothes. Well- I never though that it would lead to this. She
took off her skirt and thenproceeded to walk and tripped and she ended
up touching the fireplace while it was on. She only touched it for a
split second but it did enough damage. I felt terrible for her. She was
in great pain. She was a trooper through it though. After it happened
we put a ice pack on it and she just laid there for an hour and didn't
move. We had to change the bandages on it every day and she didn't like
it. Paige criedevery time ! The skin is still discolored and she
doesn't like any one to touch it. It is all healed but she still is
aware that it hurt and gets mad at the fireplace. I don't think that it
will happen again with her because she is scared of the fireplace now.
As her mom I still feel bad. Oh- and these pictures were taken about a week
after it happened.

Dress up time

Girls will be girls! Brianna had her friend over and that always leads to dress up time. The girls were dancing and loving the camera. I thought that the girls looked cute!
