Nielson Family Reunion 2011

We started our summer the day after school got out.  The traveling began.  First to the Nielson family reunion that turned out to be a big success.  The kids all played great and made great memories.  Here are a few pictures of the hundreds that were taken.
Before the reunion started we went to Portland Children's Museum with Tanner and Cherylyn's family.

We got to visit with Grandma Nielson on our trip.  It was great to see her.
They shot some hoops while at the reunion.  Although it looks like Tanner is doing some dancing.  Nice moves Tan.
 Family pictures were taken.
 Kid scavenger hunt.
Lots of music and dancing from the kids.
Grandma and I took the kids on a walk while the adults went on a hike.

The walk we went on we saw lots of bugs including very large slugs.

Some of the adults on their hike.

Grandma store is a hit with the kids.
 The Talent show was fun.
Shane starting a fire for smore's.
Grandma and Papa made some rubber band guns for us to shoot.
Lauren giving it a good whack.
The kids all loved the activities that were planned and we all enjoyed spending time together.

Update = Many Changes 5/8/11

As you all know I have not posted in many months.
SORRY!
So- First of all we had a great Christmas, New Years, St. Patrick's day, Valentine's day, Easter and Shane's Birthday!  Yes- many holiday's that were not blogged.  They were all great!  Is that enough. No!  I can't believe that you would like to know more.  (hee hee)
Brianna got her glasses a few weeks ago and is loving them.  We think she looks great!  Although it's not the best of picture of her.

Paige also got glasses a few weeks ago.  She however did not want glasses.  In the picture you can't tell but, her glasses are her favorite color, Purple.  That made it a little better for her.

I took this picture so you could see how big Ryker is compared to Lauren.  He is turning two this month and Lauren is four.

This is one of the things that happened to Shane since my last update.  While playing basketball he was lucky enough to do this!  It is one of the worst ankle sprains he has ever gotten.  This picture was taken a few days after it happened.  He was not able to play basketball for a couple of weeks.  Those weird looking spots at the base of the toes are blisters. It is almost  healed now.

Guess What!

Christmas 2010

There is just something magical when the house gets all decorated.  It brings joy, excitement, service for others and for the little ones wonder of what the season will bring.  We enjoy serving as a family for others and are always looking for ways we can bring some of the Christmas spirit to others.  We hope that your Christmas may bring you closer to the Savior and closer as a family!

Brianna's 9th birthday

Brianna got breakfast in bed.  She thought this was really neat!
After waiting and waiting for dad to get home from work it was time to open presents.
Grandma and Grandpa had one present that had all of us puzzled to what it was.  It ended up being bracelets!
We got B Super Mario Bros.  She is going crazy over it.  I think we got the right gift!
Brianna wanted footed pj's and she was so excited that she got them.  Shane thinks she is weird for wanting them.  Brianna later that night said that they were keeping her a nice and toasty.
Grandma got B a ZhuZhu pet and car.  She had to rip it open and try it out.  All of the girls that it was AWESOME!  I love it too. ( No food, smell or mess  just the kind of pet we want!)
Aunt Rena and Uncle Steve's present is coming late.  They were hoping that they would be able to bring it up with them.  Brianna said that this was the best birthday ever.  I asked her why and she said because of all the snow.  We have had a lot of snow fall in the past few days and has made it look beautiful outside.  We went out to the movies and saw Despicable Me and then to McDonald's.  Brianna wanted to go sledding and bowling but we went outside in our backyard and built forts, sled path, and stairs up the hill to make it easier for Ryker and Lauren to get up the hill.

Thanksgiving 2010

Well- sorry there are no pictures.  We were hoping for my sister and her family to make it up here for Thanksgiving but with all of the big storms they weren't able to make it.  After being sad for a little while we were counting our blessings that our good friends had invited us to dinner.
The Rogers were such great hosts.  Thanks for allowing us to come and eat great food and enjoy great company.  The kids all had a great time playing together.  When we got home the kids all said they had a great time.

1st good snow storm

After walking sisters to school we decided to play in the snow for a little.  Ryker and Lauren loved it and would have stayed out for hours but it was really cold and we needed to warm up.
Ryker would fall down and then couldn't get up so we would need to help him.  With the snow pants and big coat he was like a little ball.
I asked lauren to go and help him up.  This is her way of helping.  "Ryker get up!"
These two are the best buds.  It is really fun watching them grow up and play together.

sleepy Ryker Nov 2010

One night Ryker was really fussy and hungry right when I was cooking dinner so I put him in his chair and a few minutes later this is what I found.
One morning this month I went to get in the shower when I got out this is what I found.  My little buddy fast asleep.
Yet again he was sitting on the couch with his sisters and then Paige called me in and said, "Ryker fell asleep on me."  Then she laughed.

Ryker has been growing leaps and bounds.  I think this is what is causing him to fall asleep anywhere and everywhere!
