Big boy RYKER 5/11/12

Here is a big day in Rykers life.  We had been talking to him that on his 3rd birthday he was going to throw his binki away and start potty training.  Well- he decided that he was ready to potty train a few weeks before his birthday and on the second day of potty training he ran past his room and said," Oh- I need to throw my binki away!" I was so surprised that he wanted to do this but I wasn't going to stop this wonderful idea.   He ran in his room and grabbed it and the pictures tell the rest.

Right after he threw it away he was sad but then I cheered for him and then he was ok with the idea.  Unfortunately for him because he threw his binki away he thought that meant that it was his birthday.  I told him that it wasn't his birthday but I did have a early present for him.  I gave it to him at bed time to help him not be sad.  He got a new magnetic car that can drive up the fridge or any other thing that is metal.  He loved it and had no problem falling asleep.   In fact he didn't cry for his binki for about a week and then I reminded him that he was a big boy because he threw it away.  Then we found his car and he was ok.  I'm so proud of my BIG BOY!

Daddy, son night 5/5/12

 There is something special with one on one time with your kids.  This time Ryker really needed some time with dad.  Shane had been working some really long days and Ryker had been crying almost every night for his dad.  The girls and I went to a church activity and Shane decided that he would stay and play with Ryker.

 First they ate hot dogs and then they made his bar cookie recipe.  After that they got to play Mario Cart on the WII. It was just what the doctor ordered to help our little guy find his smile again.  Thanks  to some one on one time.

soccer 2012

This year we have had three of our girls playing soccer that meant 5 days a week soccer practices and then games on Saturday.  It was a very busy schedule which I'm proud to say, "I SURVIVED!"

 Paige throws in the ball to her team.  She has really grown in her skill this year and enjoys the other girls that she gets to be with.  Her coach might have to be done coaching after this year because of a job change.  We really enjoyed him as a coach sad to see him leave. :(

 Brianna  loves to play defense.  This is the last year she will be with her team.  She has been with the same coach since kindergarten.  B has to decide if she would like to continue to play on a select team or not.  Tough decisions for her.  We enjoy watching her play because she has gotten really good!!!

Even Lauren got to play soccer this year.  Well- she did a foot skills for the season.  It was a little tough for her the first few practices to not be shy or sad because she didn't know what she was supposed to do but then she got hang of it and loved it.  This was her last foot skills and at the end they gave all the kids a ball which she was thrilled about.

Brianna 4/20/12

This year Brianna was asked to join a club at school called "Math is Cool."  Every Tuesday at lunch she would go and practice her math with her club for a tournament at the end of the year.  She was so excited to go.  The math sometimes challenged her but she grew doing it.  The tournament was held at a near by college and they got to leave school early and ride a bus.  All of which was  fun for all the kids.  They had pizza for dinner and it get over until 8:30 at night.  After it got over I asked if she enjoyed it and she said, "Yes, can I do it next year!"

Lauren's 5! 2012

 Lauren had a good birthday!  She got to celebrate a day early because we had a very busy week.  She didn't mind receiving her presents early.  Every present that she opened she was excited about.  What a sweet little girl.  I can't believe that she is 5.   :(  She got some squinkies and a new little bus for them.

 She  received new church shoes and a pretty dress.

 Lauren received  a present a few days latter in the mail and was excited to open another gift which was a polly pocket house.  Which she quickly ran to find some polly pockets and set it all up and played for a few hours.

For her birthday we wanted to do something a little different.  So- we went and purchased a cake pop pan.  For our activity while everyone was at work and school we made these cute little  mini minions. Do you like them?  Every one got to decorate at least two of them.

Crazy hair day

 It's always fun when you do your hair crazy and everyone tells you that they love your hair.  The girls had fun looking very silly when they left the house this morning.
