First Family Sledding 1/20/07

Paige and I had fun watching the other two sled. It was hard for me to get up out of the sled with my growing belly. :)
Brianna and Shane just got done coming down.
This is the way Paige got to the top of the hill. Gee, she has the life!
Brianna is going down on one of the saucer sleds. She liked it when Shane would hold the two of them together and go down together. I think she would have stayed there all day if we would have let her.

For Christmas Santa gave us sleds and we waited very patiently for the snow so we could use them. Well on Saturday we woke up and we had gotten about 5-7 inches of new snow. We knew this is what we had been waiting for. Just around the corner from our house is a good hill to sled down. Once we were all bundled up we headed out. The girls were very excited! I think us parents were too. :) Brianna had a blast especially when she would go down with Shane because then she would go really far. In fact the would go down the hill and into the street. One time they went all the way across the street and ran into the curb on the other side. Brianna thought that was really cool. Paige didn't really know if it was fun because snow would fly up into her face. I finally figured out why she was not having fun and decided that she would go down backwards holding on to me. She thought that was fun and then wanted to do it more. One the way home I told the girls to get in the sled and I would pull them home. The roads were covered and make it easy to pull and faster to get home. After sledding we headed home and got a nice hot cup of HOT CHOCOLATE! Yum Yum!!

Playing in the Snow

I know this is a little late but while we were in Utah for the funeral the kids went out and played in the snow. For my girls it was fun to have other kids around. Paige still didn't last very long but they all looked like they had fun. Thanks Steph for letting us use the snow pants!

Airplane ride

We flew into SLC to attend granpa's funeral. Brianna wasn't feeling good. We thought that it was because she was nervous. We later found out that she had the flew that I had two nights before. She threw up on the plane and again in the middle of the night. I sure hope that no one else got it.

The flight home was nice because it wasn't a full flight and the girls could both have a window seat. One sat with me and the other with dad. The plane did land fast and it bothered Paige's ears. She wouldn't suck on her binki , eat candy or chew on gum. The other passengers had to listen to some crying for a few minutes. Also- Mom and Dad got on their plane the same time as us so we could spend some time together in the airport. The only thing that made me upset was that I forgot my drivers licence in my church bag and had no current photo ID so I had to go though special screening. Which being almost in my 3rd trimester wasn't happy. Being patted down wasn't fun. I just think that the whole thing is retarded that they have to screen like that. I was MAD by the end! The kids were concerned because I couldn't be with them and Brianna didn't want to take off her shoes and wondered why she had to do all of that. I couldn't help Shane and they threw away my water!!! Did I say I was MAD!

Grandpa's Funeral

The funeral was nice but sad also. We know that we'll see him again but
we will miss him. Grandpa was one of those people that once you meet
him you'll never forget him. I met him in April of 98. Ever since that
moment I have been gratefully that I could have him in my life. He was
a grandpa that your proud of. One that you could brag about. Even
though I met him after his memory started to go I could still see a man
that loved his wife, loved his posterity, his country, the gospel, the
outdoors, and loved to serve those around him.

At the cemetery it was freezing. The kids were all crying because it was so cold. The boys thought that the 21 gun salute was neat. The bagpipes were my favorite and the trumpets were also cool. After theburial we went to the church and had a wonderful meal provided by his ward.

Granpa's Viewing

Our Grandpa was an amazing man. He lived his mission here on earth in a way that was an example to us all. I was amazed at the viewing because everyone was happy and knew that grandpa was doing good. When I went to my grandma's last December it was much different. Everyone was crying and sad because they don't have the knowledge that we have of being together as a family forever. I'm so bless to have the gospel in my life and to have the knowledge that my family can be together forever. My mom called after we got back from the funeral and she wanted to see how we were all doing. (She met grandpa when we got married and thought very highly of him and has asked how he was doing on occasion.) I told her that we were doing good and that the funeral was nice and that we were happy for him. I told her about the viewing and that people were smiling and knew that grandpa was in a better place now. She could not believe it and told me that they must be in denial. I told her that we weren't and she continued to tell me that they must then be faking it. She still can't believe that we know we will see him again. It is a concept that we have worked on since my grandma passed away.
Anyway- Grandpa's viewing was a great experience for me and my girls. When Paige saw G-papa (As we called him) she said that he was night night (which meant that he was sleeping). Shane told her, "Yes a very special sleep." She was fine with G-papa going night night. Brianna had some questions about why his body wasn't in heaven with Heavenly Father and was a little sad. For FHE we had a lesson on Loosing a Loved one. It helped her understand some of the things that she had questions on.

Day after Christmas 12-26-06

Shane's last day off of work. :( We decided that we would go into town and take the girls to a movie. Both of them wanted to see Charlotte's Web and Shane wanted to see Erragon. After seeing the trailers for both of them it was decided that Charlotte's Web was the best bet. Both of the girls did great. Paige's attention span is getting better. Once we got out of the movie we asked Paige what her favorite part was she said the spider including the baby ones. (Wee- part of the movie.) Brianna wouldn't answer she just wanted to know why we couldn't go to another movie. After hitting a few stores we went home. The girls almost make it through the drive home but fell fast asleep once on the freeway. Brianna woke up shortly after arriving home. Paige on the other hand could have slept the night away if we would have let her.

Christmas Day 12-25-06

For some reason we didn't get a pictures taken. We did however use one whole 8mm tape. Brianna said that she heard Santa walking around. Santa brought sleds and a bunch of other presents. The kids were amazed at how many presents we had under our tree. Thanks for all of the wonderful things that were given to us!! We enjoyed them all. Brianna especially loved the craft set horses and Polly pocket car and Paige loved her new light up shoes, baby doll stuff and airplane. The whole family got light sabers the girls and I like them but Shane LOVES them. He has gotten it out every night and then asks who wants to fight. Paige has a hard time holding hers up and gets upset if anyone hits me. Brianna loves it and is ready when ever daddy asks.

In the girls stockings they got these packets that fizz and have toys in them. They both thought it was magic. Shane had fun doing this with the girls!!
