Riding dad's bike

Boys in black.
Nothing like riding dad's new bike.

Our kids and update

Ryker and Lauren had ear problems in March.  Ryker had a ruptured eardrum.  Lauren had a ear infection.  To top it all off they both had the flu at the same time.  Not to mention that Shane got the flu which turned into pnemonia.  We had a rough few weeks.  Paige lost her first two teeth within days of each other.  She was very happy.  Brianna is a great big sister which helps out when she can/ in the mood.  Lauren is a joy around our house.  Her voice is so cute and she keeps me laughing.  I love my kids and I count my blessings every night as I go to sleep.

Daddy daughter date night Feb 12th

We decided that our older kids could use some one on one time with us.  On this night Shane took Paige out on a date to build a bear workshop.  Paige was SO EXCITED.  They got to go in daddy's new car ( which is really exciting to the girls just so you know).  At the workshop she picked out a grey cat which she latter named Sarah.  Sarah goes everywhere with her now.  After the workshop Shane took her out to get a cinnamon roll.  They got back home around 9:00pm and she was a ball of energy because she had a blast.
The girls really look forward to their dates.  We have scheduled them for the next year. It is a good time for us to hear how they are doing and get to know them personally.  I hope that they will remember this time we have taken to spend with them I know I will.

Braces Feb 11th

BIG day!  Bri wanted them to get on really fast because she wanted to get back to school to show every one.  She is the first one to get braces in her class and she is very proud of that.  I have to get a great big thanks to my friend Jacy for watching my kids through this whole process.  THANKS  you are awesome.  Especially since they where sick on this day!
Brianna has one tooth on the top that really needed to rotate.  The second day that she had them on she came running down to me and said, "mom look do you see anything different!"  Oh my goodness.  That tooth had almost completly rotated into the right position.  Brianna could see the changes and it made all the pain worth it.  She loves the braces.  We are very proud of her and the way she has been taking care of them.

Spacers Feb 4th

Here she is getting her spacers put on.  It only took a few minutes.  She is so happy.  They were blue elastics that just slide inbetween the back molers.  Bri said it was fun to make them squeek when they would rub against the top and bottom.

The fun of being two

Lauren is a great kid most of the time.  However we have had some struggles with her lately.  Ryker has been sleeping very bad at night and they share a room so Lauren has been falling asleep at dinner on a regular bases.  Poor little girl!  I feel her pain.  She also has been learning how to push my buttons.  I have learned how to laugh at times when she is not listening to me.
After the pudding she had to have a bath, it was EVERYWHERE.  These Dixie cups are one of her favorite things in the world.  She will get them out and play with them and put one cracker in each one and then leave them laying around.  It gets really old!

Brianna's 6 teeth Feb 6th

Brianna getting ready for her braces.   On Feb 4th Brianna had to get 6 teeth pulled to make room for her adult teeth.  She was very excited to get the ball rolling.  We weren't told how they would do it.  I've never had any teeth pulled and I thought it wouldn't be bad at all.    As soon as Bri found out that she would be getting shots she didn't want to do it anymore. The hygienist told her that she wouldn't feel any of it and it would be ok.  Brianna didn't believe her.  I didn't either.  We were  right.  She had three vials of numbing solution and was still crying that it hurt.  After the top three the dentist asked if I wanted to stop and go to an oral surgeon.  I said no because she was already numbed up.  He then said well,  Lets give her some laughing gas.   That seemed to help.  As a mother it was really hard to watch.  We were there for a good 3 1/2 hours.  Brianna was happy to be done with that and never wants to go to the dentist again!!!  The really exciting part for her was the tooth fairy would be coming that night and she had 6 teeth.  She made out with $11.50.   At school the next day she couldn't wait to show off her new smile.  I think that she was very brave.
